Olagón premiered at the Linenhall, Castlebar, Co. Mayo on Saturday July 2nd 2022.
Brú Theatre in collaboration with Paul Kinsella
A lament for the land, Olagón merges newly composed music based on the tradition of Irish lament with cutting-edge Immersive technology and stunning Mayo landscapes to offer audiences a transportive experience viewed through a Virtual Reality headset.
Following the success of Brú’s VR experience Ar Ais Arís, artist Paul Kinsella returns to collaborate with Brú Theatre, inviting you to sit back and surround yourself in an evocative merging of voice, image and technology.
Irish language songs composed by Julianna Bloodgood are laced through the beautiful and troubled lands of Mayo’s Erriff wood, Doolough, Lough Carra and Ballyheane to offer audiences a unique experience, colliding ancient vocal practices with new technology.
Duration: 14 minutes. Olagón is funded by the Bank Of Ireland Begin Together Arts Fund supported by The Linenhall, Castlebar.
